India is a very diverse country geographically. It's about the seventh largest country in the world, stemming from the Himalayan Mountains in the north, to a long coast that juts into the Indian ocean. On either side of the country is the Arabian Sea (west) and the Bay of Bengal (east). India can be made up of three regions, the Himalayas, the Indo-Gangetic Plain, and the southern penninsula. India also controls some other areas off the coats, including many islands. In addition to these main regions, there is also the rivers of the Indian subcontinent that create the Indus River Valley. The southern region also includes the Thar desert. New Delhi is located exactly on the Indo-Gangetic Plain. And as you can see, India has practically every land form you can think of!
How Does Region Shape Life in New Delhi?
The various regions of India can very much affect the way people live. For example, if you lived in the desert it would be very dry and hard to find water, the houses would be different so as to adapt to the weathter, and food would probably be different. But if you lived somewhere like New Delhi, it's all flat and the weather is subtropical rather than dry, so houses would be different to withstand the humidity, some things are easier/harder based on where you live in India.
